Membership Payment / Renewal

Beginning May 15 you may renew or pay your THSADA membership for the 2010-2011 school year on line through Member Services.  You may use a credit card to pay for or renew your membership online.  If you must pay by check, you can register as "Renew/Register by check only" and can send the check to Membership Chairman Kevin Ozee's office.  His contact information is on the "Officers and Directors" page of this website.  Once your check is cleared you will be set up for this year.

For the past two years, Gerdau has partnered with the championship host committee to create unique recycled steel structures that have become must-see destinations.

This year's project is the most ambitious and exhilarating yet. We are asking all Texas high schools to submit a piece of steel (scrap, bolt, etc.) from their own football facility or school, which will be repurposed with recycled steel from the recently demolished stadium in North Texas, to create a steel monument that will celebrate Texas high school football.

In addition to submitting steel, we are asking that each high school provide the names of alumni who have gone on to play professional football. The structure will then honor these graduates by engraving their names into the steel monument.

When the world gathers in North Texas to watch professional football's championship game in February of 2011, this structure will stand in the heart of Fort Worth's Sundance Square.

THSADA to provide free / reduced cost Legal Care to members

For information concerning this offer of free and reduced cost Legal Care to members, please read below;

Dear THSADA Member;

I hope you are ready for another year!  It has already started in so many ways.  It was great to see everyone in San Antonio and I am already looking forward to our State Conference.  Congratulations to L.P. Jones, Michael Mitchell, Daryl Wade and Sherry Stice for their induction into the Hall of Honor.  Congratulations to our retirees and I hope you enjoy a much deserved rest.

At our general meeting, I mentioned our new benefit from Legal Care America.  This service is available to all members, including retirees.  To be eligible you must be a member so if you have not taken care of renewing your membership, please do so as soon as possible.  This is a service which offers legal advice to our members.  The program goes into effect August 1 and includes the following:

1. Unlimited calls to Legal Care

2. No time limit on calls

3. A legal helpline which allows THSADA members to call and speak with an attorney to obtain answers to their legal questions.

4. Should a THSADA member desire to hire an attorney, Legal Care will help find an attorney by providing a referral to one of their panel of referral attorneys who specialize in your area of need and whose office is near home or work.  Referral attorney will provide:

        a. Thirty (30) minutes of initial consultation free of charge.

  b. A 25% reduction to his/her standard billing rate

5. Legal Care is available from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

6. All consultations are undertaken by licensed attorneys and are confidential.

7. Areas of law include those of either a personal or business nature.  Included are matters of family law, wills and probate matters, trusts and conservatorships, credit or debt issues, insurance claims, contract disputes and more.

8. Should you retain an attorney referred to you by Legal Care, you are responsible for all fees and expenses accruing from the performance of services.

We will send them a list of paid members and they will use our list to verify membership whenever they are called.  I am excited about this new benefit and I hope it is helpful.
