Region 7 Rob Davies
I am humbled and honored to be nominated as a candidate for President-Elect of THSADA. As the Director of Athletics for Harlingen CISD, I take great pride in overseeing two highly successful high school athletic programs. Since joining THSADA in 2007, I have been deeply involved in our profession, serving as a presenter, committee member, and Regional Director. I am an NIAAA and TAAC-certified athletic administrator and have also served as a UIL District Executive Committee Chair. Additionally, my involvement with the THSCA Athletic Director Advisory Committee and the Urban/Rural ISD Advisory Committee has allowed me to advocate for athletic programs across districts of all sizes. My leadership experiences in DFW, Central Texas, and South Texas have given me a well-rounded perspective to serve all regions of our great organization. At a time when Texas Public Schools face unprecedented challenges, I am committed to supporting, preserving, and enhancing the systems and processes that make our state a model for athletic excellence. Serving and representing my fellow athletic administrators in this important role would be a privilege.
Region 8 Melanie Hinson
With over 14 years of experience in athletic administration and a deep commitment to the development and growth of high school athletics in Texas, I am honored to be a candidate for President-Elect of the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association (THSADA).
Throughout my career, I have had the honor and privilege to serve not only Southwest ISD, but the many UIL District’s we have competed in, the THSCA and most important, the THSADA. I served as the THSADA Regional Director for Region 8 from 2017 until 2024, I am the Chair of the THSADA Sports Medicine Committee and an inaugural member of the THSADA Officials Committee.
I wholeheartedly believe in the mission and vision of the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association and want to continue to help grow our association and our profession, as well as support and guide our Athletic Administrators and future Athletic Administrators!
